To start recording on the go, simply slide the REC switch on the top of the unit upwards. The recorder starts recording immediately, even if it is switched off. The VP-20 is also equipped with a combined microphone/headphone jack that supports external microphones such as the Olympus TP-8 microphone for teleconferencing.
